Practical skills. Real opportunities. A brighter you.
Step Into Your Future helps young people build confidence, discover their strengths and develop practical skills that can open doors to education, training, employment and enterprise.
You don’t need to have everything figured out. The programme is designed to help you explore, try new things, build useful skills and take your next step with greater confidence.
You don’t have to know your future before you start
For many young people, being asked “What career do you want?” can feel like a big question.
Step Into Your Future takes a different approach.
Our approach starts with the young person - their strengths, interests, aspirations and starting point and builds from there.
ENGAGE → DISCOVER → CHOOSE → DEVELOP → APPLY → PROGRESS
We create opportunities for young people to experience possibilities first, discover what interests them and then begin making informed choices about what could come next.
Your future doesn’t have to be figured out today.
Sometimes the next step starts by trying something new.
-
The aim is not simply to teach someone how to braid hair, sew, design a product or create something.
We help young people recognise what they are learning about themselves along the way.
Following instructions.
Solving problems.
Communicating with others.
Responding to feedback.
Working independently.
Managing time.
Building confidence.
Finishing what they started.
These are skills that matter in education, work, enterprise and everyday life.
-
What happens next will be different for every young person.
The programme can help participants move towards:
Further education
Explore courses and learning opportunities that build on new interests and strengths.
Training & Apprenticeships
Understand different vocational routes and how to access them.
Employment
Build employability skills, confidence and practical evidence to support applications and interviews.
Work Experience
Where opportunities are available, participants may be supported to explore workplace experience and employer engagement.
Enterprise & Self-Employment
For young people interested in creating their own opportunities, we introduce the foundations of turning skills and ideas into income.
Personal Progression
Sometimes the most important first outcome is greater confidence, direction, motivation and belief in what is possible.
-
Step Into Your Future is for young people at different stages of their journey - including those still exploring their options, preparing to leave education, looking for work or training, wanting to build confidence, interested in practical or creative skills, or needing additional support to reconnect with opportunities.
Some funded or commissioned cohorts may be designed for a particular group, age range or location, but the wider Step Into Your Future model is designed to support young people to explore, develop and progress.
-
We combine:
Practical Skills + Life Skills + Career Readiness + Progression Support
That means young people are not only learning something new.
They are also learning how to recognise their strengths, talk about what they can do, understand their options and take practical steps towards what comes next.
For schools, colleges and community organisations
Step Into Your Future can be delivered as a tailored programme for schools, colleges, local authorities, youth organisations, community groups and other partners supporting young people.
Delivery can be adapted around the needs of a cohort, including practical skills experiences, employability, enterprise, confidence-building, life skills, career exploration and progression support.
-
Step Into Your Future can support priorities around youth progression, employability, skills development, confidence, economic participation, prevention and early intervention.
We can tailor delivery to specific cohorts and agreed outcomes while retaining the core progression model:
Experience → Skills → Confidence → Evidence → Opportunity → Progression
